A huge thank you to our brilliant speakers this week at our October General Speaker Meeting. With over 80 attendees, I think we will book a bigger room for the next one!
Martyn Taylor of Ashley Taylors Legal gave us the latest facts on the Renters’ Rights Bill – which looks like it will gain Royal Assent as early as this month. Amendments do not look likely! We will keep our members informed as soon as we have confirmation of implementation. The government has advised that ample time will be given so that landlords can prepare.
Mick Quick of Tech Surveys explained (in detail) what landlords can do to get their properties more energy efficient for the ‘EPC C’ or above plans from 2028/2030.
Both speakers encouraged live questions and lots was learned!
We look forward to our next meeting which will be an informal Christmas Open Office event at the SWLA Office on Wednesday 10th December, 3pm – 6pm. We hope to see lots of members there.
